Celestial Seasonings’ Moroccan Pomegranate Red Tea (review)

Celestial Seasonings Morocccan Pomegranate Red TeaName:Moroccan Pomegranate Red Tea

Brand: Celestial Seasonings

Type: Herbal tisane, rooibos

Form: Paper teabags, stringless

Review: The weather is definitely starting to heat up around here, so I’m always on the lookout for inexpensive iced tisanes to sip in the late afternoon and evening. As I am fond of both pomegranate and rooibos, I gave this Celestial Seasonings blend a try.

I am distinctly underwhelmed.

Good rooibos is a very nice thing, with its honey, caramel, and sometimes fruity notes. Bad rooibos, on the other hand, has an unfortunate musky aroma that I find skunk-like and distracting. Sadly, Celestial Seasonings decided to combine a skunky rooibos with some indifferent hibiscus and pomegranate flavoring and pack it into teabags. The result is a decidedly uninteresting tisane that quenched my thirst but did little else for me.

Meh.

It’s a bummer about this rooibos. Have you tried their Sleepytime Vanilla? It’s my new bedtime sipper.
