Name: Antlers d’Amore
Brand: Pearl Fine Teas
Type: White tea, stems only
Form: Loose leaf
Cost: $8.00 per ounce
Review: Antlers d’Amore is a most unusual tea: It is made entirely from Malawian tea stems (instead of leaves) which are minimally processed in the white tea style. The long, fine stems have a beautiful floral aroma even when dry.
After infusion, to a light-medium gold liquor, the floral aroma becomes more pronounced. The tea is surprisingly full-bodied, slightly sweet, and intensely floral on the palate. This isn’t a super-subtle silver needle-type white: These stems make a hearty brew.
Incidentally, Antlers d’Amore re-steeps beautifully. I got about six infusions one day, and probably could have got more if I had kept at it. Definitely a good value.
Preparation Tips: Keep the water temperature relatively cool (175F) when preparing this tea in order to maximize its sweet and floral qualities.

Thanks for the suggestion, haven’t tried that many white teas. I’ll have to try some.
This looks absolutely fascinating…it looks like the type of white tea that I would really love…not to mention something totally different!
