Name: Passion
Type: Herbal tisane
Form: Paper tea bag
Review: I am not generally fond of over-tart herbal infusions (aka tisanes). Many tisane blenders get lazy and use too much hibiscus and rose hips, creating a seriously tart beverage without much else to recommend it.
Now while Tazo’s Passion isn’t really my style, I have to say that their blenders did a good job creating a tart herbal infusion that maintains a strong fruity character. If you are a fan of cranberry juice, or berries in general, this blend of fruit flavors with the hibiscus and rose hips may work quite nicely for you.
Quite intense when hot: I’d recommend it for someone with a head cold (would probably clear you out quite nicely). On ice, it is tangy and refreshing, a better option for someone who wants a refreshing, fruity beverages without the calories or sugar of juice.

I find that this tea is too tart for me; however, I’ve found that the acidity is very water-soluble, even in cold water. When I make this tea, I run the teabag under cold water briefly (15 sec. or so), and it removes most of the sourness but leaves the aroma mostly intact. The resulting tea is something I enjoy very much.
I’d recommend trying this if anyone else, like me, ever ends up with a box of this tea but thinks it is too sour for their tastes.
