Review: As folks know, I am a stickler for using good water to make tea. The trouble is that good water isn’t always easy to find. While I’ve had great success making tea with spring water, spring water can be expensive and isn’t always handy.
Through my involvement with OpenSky, I became aware of ZeroWater. The ZeroWater filtration system is designed to produce water that meets the FDA standard for “purified” water. The filter itself has five layers, each contributing to the purification of the water.
ZeroWater also includes a TDS Meter (TDS stands for “Total Dissolved Solids) with the pitcher, so you can monitor your water’s purity. Used correctly, the ZeroWater pitcher will produce water with zero (000 on the meter) dissolved solids. Once the meter indicates that the total dissolved solids are at the 006 level, it is time to change the filter.
(And speaking of changing filters, ZeroWater does have a recycling program for its used filters.)
The water filtered by this pitcher tastes good, fresh and clean (and better than the water from my carbon-filter pitcher). The pitcher also has a nifty design feature: One annoying aspect of water filter pitchers is that you have to wait for the water in the top basin to filter completely before pouring water from the pitcher (if you try pouring while filtering, filtered and unfiltered water will pour out together). The ZeroWater Pitcher includes a spigot at its bottom, which lets you pour filtered water into your kettle even as other water is running through the top filter.
Highly recommended.

Zero water Ms. Lainie? Have you ever tried water filtration by osmosis? Apparently this can be a very good way of ‘cleaning’ water but there can be a problem of it becoming too clean and we humans do not find it tastes too good.
How about Zen water?

I have tried reverse osmosis water, and yes, it can be a bit uninteresting, but it works really well on well water. Zen water? well, that is another idea altogether, isn’t it?
I hope you are well, Agent Zig Zag!

The reviews of this system on Amazon were that while it worked very well and produced good water, it is really expensive. Too bad, it sounded good to me.

Hello Ms. Lainie,
I am gengki thank you. Now what is Zen water? That is the biq question.
Bruce Lee said this about water, “Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
And I say put boiling water onto the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and it becomes Tea!

Yeah, I am the same when it comes to my tea! I feel like I can taste it if the water is not clean. And I like my water well filtered in general. My brita is not impressing me and was looking for a new brand. Glad to hear you recommend this brand!
