Review: Well, at least the leaves are pretty.
(And they are really, really pretty: Long, unbroken leaves with plenty of fuzzy, pale gold buds.)
The trouble is that I can’t get them to taste like much. I sniffed the dry leaves and didn’t pick up much of a nose, which is no big deal, as dry leaf often doesn’t smell like much.
(And a very faint dry nose also lets you know that the tea has probably not been adulterated.)
The trouble started after I infused the stuff to a pretty orange/amber. The tea still didn’t smell like much (Maybe a hint of vanilla.), and upon sipping, I realized that it didn’t have much taste, either.
I’ve tried preparing this tea in different ways, but still found it to be bland with little flavor or character. A pity that those pretty, pretty leaves can’t make a good cup of tea.
