Kusmi’s Green Tea with Spearmint (review)

by Lainie P on January 1, 2010

Name: Green Tea with Spearmint

Brand: Kusmi

Type: Green tea, flavored

Form: Muslin tea bags (loose leaf available)

Cost: 20 teabags sell for $12.95, 4.4 ounce loose leaf sells for $15.95, quantity discounts available

Review: Kusmi excels at flavored teas, and their version of Moroccan mint tea does not disappoint.

The dry leaf has a rich, sweet, mint scent which brews up to  medium green-gold in the cup. As expected, the mint nose dominates in the nose, but the light-medium bodied cup itself is very balanced: Both mint and gunpowder tea, can be harsh, but that doesn’t happen in this tea, which possesses a lovely, and refreshing, sweet-softness.

Recommended.

Preparation Tip: Kusmi recommends keeping the water temperature very low (about 70C or 158F). I concur with this recommendation and feel that it does produce the best tasting tea. If you are concerned about the tea getting too cold too fast, warm your cup/mug before pouring the tea.

Very nice blog you have here. I will be back to read more. I’m an avid tea drinker. Thanks so much for checking out my post on Elderberry and Elderberry Tea. Very good at fighting colds and flus. You should follow up as well! Happy New Year!
