Lipton’s Ginger Twist (review)

by Lainie P on December 26, 2009

Name: Ginger Twist
Brand: Lipton
Type: Herbal tisane
Form: Paper tea bag

Review: So I overindulged this Christmas and ended up with a bit of a tummy ache. It’s too late for tea, so I combed my stash for a caffeine-free tisane. Since I know ginger to be good for upset tummies,  I thought that Lipton’s Ginger Twist would be just the thing.

(It was.)

Ginger Twist is a blend of ginger, orange peel, coriander, lemongrass, chicory cinnamon hibiscus lemon peel, licorice root, and cloves. The dominant taste is akin to a “roasted” ginger with the citrus and other spices offering support, and doing so quite well.

This  isn’t a complex tisane, but the ginger throws plenty of heat and the other flavors keep it interesting. Incidentally, since it comes in paper tea bags, it is easily carried along to parties and while traveling, in case you’ve overindulged and need something to clear and soothe palate, head, and belly.
