Kusmi's packaging is gorgeous!

Name:Prince Vladimir (Prince Wlandimir)

Brand: Kusmi Tea

Type: Flavored black tea

Form: Muslin tea bags (loose leaf is available)

Cost: Varies by merchant and quantity. Amazon.com’s price is $16.37 for 2 boxes containing 20 teabags each of Prince Vladimir (Prince Wlandimir).

Review: I had never heard of Kusmi Tea until a few weeks ago, when a company representative asked if they could send me some samples. I’m so glad they did.

Kusmi Teas is a French tea blender with Russian roots. Their flavored teas remind me a lot of French wine: Balanced, subtle, and complex. My favorite so far is Prince Vladimir, a blend of black tea, vanilla, citrus and spice.

Kusmi Teas are available loose or in tea bags. The later are muslin teabags, individually wrapped in colorful packets. Prince Vladimir’s dry nose was dominated by vanilla and clove, with a backnote of citrus. My mouth was watering while I set the kettle to boil.

The tea infuses to a medium amber, with a sumptuous nose of vanilla, clove and a bit of fruit. When consumed hot, the vanilla and clove dominate, but when iced, the citrus notes move forward, with the clove playing a supporting role. This blend is incredibly smooth: Don’t add milk or sugar to this tea, please. It is just too good for that.

Tip: This is a great iced tea. The cold brings out the citrus/lemon notes, which are quite refreshing.

I don’t know who this Prince Vladimir is but I know he’s gotten a good review for the tea named after him. Even though it comes in tea bags and not in loose leaf form. Must be tea bags fit for royalty. –Teaternity
