Jing Tea’s Glass Teacup and Saucer (review)

Jing_Tea_Glass_Cup_and_SaucerName: Glass Teacup and Saucer (300 ml)

Brand: Jing Tea

Type: Teaware, teacup and saucer

Cost: $14.71

Review: This smart, elegant teacup pairs nicely with Jing’s other glass teaware. The glass is thick and crystal clear, lightweight, with a sturdy, well-placed handle that prevents fingers from being burned.

I don’t know whether this is intentional or not, but the design of the cup facilitates the cooling of tea: The cup is short with a wide mouth. Given the recent research into the heath risks of  drinking extremely hot tea, this is probably a good thing (and in truth, I believe that one can better taste the nuances of a tea when it is cooler). Those who prefer extremely hot tea and who are, perhaps, slow drinkers, may not find this cup to their liking.

(I adore it, though.)

I too believe a tea is tasted better when cool and like to drink my tea either mildly iced or room temp. For this reason, I like the looks of this teacup. My only concern is keeping a glass cup clean with frequent use for tea. –Teaternity
