Grand Tea’s Heart of Love (review)

heartteaName: Heart of Love

Brand: Grand Tea

Type: Performance tea, buds and flowers

Form: Heart shaped blooming tea

Review: Unless you lack a soul, it is hard to not be charmed by flowering teas. These hand sewn, carefully folded bundles are such fun to watch as they unfurl into little bouquets and gardens!

Hong Kong-based Grand Tea offers several types of flowering teas, but I think that “Heart of Love” is particularly cute: A jasmine scented, heart-shaped cake of buds and flowers that opens to a pretty bouquet of orange, red, and white blossoms.

The tea is tasty: The Jasmine dominates, but the other flowers make themselves known as well. I did not find the floral notes to be overwhelming, even after the tea had steeped awhile.

Incidentally, you can certainly keep this blooming tea as a decoration. Just pour fresh, cold water over it every day, and it should last about a week.

These bring the aesthetic beauty of tea to a new level. Some people claim that it’s never good tea used in these blooms but I’m glad Lainie stands by them. It’s no worse than people being interested in the color of their tea in the cup. –Teaternity
