Review: Get this Darjeeling while is still quite fresh, and you shall be rewarded. (Right now, the quality of “freshness” emerges most strongly in both the nose and on the palate.) The dark brown dry leaves have an intense, sweet, and fruity quality, and infuse to a pretty medium brown, not unlike that of a good quality maple syrup.

Once infused, the fruit remains (cooked peach?) in the nose along with some nice brown sugar/caramel notes. On the palate, the tea has an interesting cooling quality, almost minty, along with some aniseed notes as well. These mesh well with the continued brown sugar/caramel notes, making it a more substantial Darjeeling than many that I have tried.

Pairs well with digestive biscuits. Also very nice on its own.
