My live podcast tomorrow will continue the series on tea myths: This show will focus on myths about caffeine in tea. Please feel free to call into the show at: 347-215-8528, or you can go to the show’s site and either: 1. Log into its chatroom to leave comments/questions or 2. Use the call in button to connect live via your computer.
Should you wish to send a question or comment via email, please email me before the show tomorrow, and I will read your email on the air.
My blogging-pal Steve at The 39 Steeps has been kind enough to compile a list of tweets by Nigel Melican, world-recognized authority on tea, on the tea and caffeine controversy. Please read this excellent blog post at Cha Dao, and its ensuing discussion, on caffeine in tea as well.
I will also be reviewing Narien’s Kilinoe green tea (remember, you can get a 10% discount on your Narien orders by entering coupon code “lainiesips” at checkout), and Golden Monkey tea from Teaism.
In addition to all this, I will be introducing Steepster, the social networking tool for tea lovers.
Finally, I will not be recording a live podcast next week, but will resume the week after, on Tuesday, July 7th. I will also be moving the podcast into the evenings, at 9pm (Central time), so as to better accommodate those who would like to call in, but can’t, due to work schedules.

Lainie, I’m sorry I won’t be able to call in today! It’s a great topic. Do follow the interesting discussion in the comments on the Cha Dao Web site, where some interesting back-and-forth about caffeine takes place. Upshot: The simplistic caffeine claims made by many tea marketers just can’t be scientifically maintained.
This should be interesting, it is indeed a controversial subject at the moment. We’ve decided that the most useful thing for our customers is that we get a range of our teas tested for both caffeine and antioxidants. We’ll be testing 10 of our teas and will be writing blogs on the results.
Thanks,
David (JING Tea)
