Podcast Review:
Review: I admit to being a bit perplexed by this tea at first: While I had heard of cucumber tea sandwiches, I had never heard of a cucumber tea. . .and I opened the little sample tin with some trepidation.
My initial impression of the dry nose did not allay my fears. The nose was pungent, and reminded me of pickles (I like pickles, but not as a tea). The leaf itself is a mix of fairly large green and brown white tea leaves, plus a fair number of silvery tips. Very pretty, even if the nose is strange.
When infused to a pale green liquor, the dry nose softens a bit. The light bodied liquor is slightly sweet, and tastes of cucumber (as would be expected). The finish is tangy and refreshing. Very good hot, remarkably good when iced.
I should note that this is a very distinctive tea: If you don’t like cucumbers or pickles, you probably won’t care for this. On the other hand, those that do enjoy cucumbers and pickles will likely find this to be a very interesting and refreshing tea.
Recommendation: Very taste specific, so try a sample before committing to a large quantity. A good tea to serve with sushi, and fantastic iced.

“I like pickles, but not as a tea” was my first chuckle of the day so thanks for that. Sounds like a unique tea especially iced for summer but a bit too much of a gamble to order by itself. Think I’ll wait till I am ready to order several of those $2 tins but I will add it to the list that keeps growing and growing…
