Heads-up Chicago Tea People!

I just got an email from Sam Ritchey, Tea Sommelier for TeaGschwendner. He was kind enough to let me know about some upcoming tea events in the Chicago Area, and I wanted to pass the information on to my readers.

I have attended a tea class with Sam before, and it was fantastic experience. Sam is knowledgeable, hospitable, personable, and a great teacher who encourages questions and opinions from attendees. Plus, he selects great teas for students to sample!

Upcoming Chicago Tea Events:

4/15 Tea and Chocolate Tasting at TeaGschwendner’s Algonquin Store – 1624 S. Randall Rd.

What happens when you mix tea and chocolate?  Whatever it is, it’s good. Join us as we experiment with curious dessert pairings of premium tea with decadent chocolate from our partners at Vosges.  Be sure to bring your sweet tooth!

Reservations required.  $10 per person. Call (847) 458-8501 to reserve your place in class. Pre-payment with a credit card is required.

4/23 Edmon’s New Arrivals Reprise at TeaGschwendner’s Chicago State Street Store – 1160 N. State St.

A new season and a new slate of unique Edmon’s selections make their debut. Hold onto your hats because we will travel far and wide–from Assam to Zhejiang–on our latest survey.  We will feature rare, exquisite selections from Nepal, India, China and Sri Lanka.  Come explore your passion for tea with us!

Reservations required. $10 per person. Call (312) 932-0639 to reserve your place in class. Pre-payment with a credit card is required.

There will be no tea events in May, but Sam plans on some classes this summer. Contact your local TeaGschwendner to get on their mailing list, and (please) tell them I sent you!
