Review: In an effort to get better quality sleep, I have started drinking rooibos tisane in the late afternoons and evenings. Much to my surprise, I find that I am quite enjoying rooibos, not as a tea substitute, but as a delicious beverage in its own right: Adagio’s Rooibos Mango is a case in point.
The liquor is lovely deep orange, with a nose of honey, nuts and a hint of fruit. There is nothing artificial, overwhelming, or “perfumy” about the mango scent. Indeed, the mango flavor is more in the background supporting the nutty rooibos. I tried it both with and without liquid steviaand found it to be tasty both ways, though, as (almost) always, I prefer this tisane without sweetener.
This rooibos was also robust enough to remind me of true tea, with some similarity to a zingy Ceylon or Darjeeling. It isn’t the real thing, of course, but quite good nonetheless. You can get about two infusions out of this rooibos.
Recommendation: This is a well-crafted flavored rooibos with a robust, deep flavor. Quite tasty with sweetener, but doesn’t really need it.

With the mango in it, I don’t think it would need sweetener either.

Rooibus is how I was able to give up my morning cup of coffee during my pregnancies. I’ve been into a strawberry tisane recently for my evenings. I’ve read somewhere that rooibus still has some caffeine just not as much. Is that true?

Joie,
Rooibos is caffeine free!
So glad you like it!
I tried some Pineapple Rooibos last year at Sanctuary T’s Iced Tea Festival and absolutely loved it.
