Name: Twinings Earl Grey Tea
Brand: Twinings
Form: Paper tea bags, individually wrapped.
Cost: A box of 20 tea bags will cost roughly $3.75, but quantity discounts are available through various retailers.

Review: Twinings of London prepared the first commercially available Earl Grey, and it remains a popular choice even among people who don’t normally drink tea.
As I have noted in previous Earl Grey reviews, I am fond of bergamot (Earl Grey is black tea flavored with essential oil of Bergamot, a small citrus fruit), and like it to be fairly strong in the Earl Grey that I drink.
Twinings Earl Grey is strongly scented of bergamot, both in its dry and infused form. The overall flavor profile is “tight”: The black tea is fairly one-dimensional, and the Earl Grey is also fairly restrained on the palate, much more than in the nose. As a result, this tea, while quite drinkable and tasty, is also unremarkable.
Recommendation: While the tea is certainly inoffensive, I feel that there are far more interesting Earl Greys on the market. If you like a very restrained tea, by all means, enjoy Twinings Earl Grey. But otherwise, I’d give this one a pass.
