I admit it, I am on a mission to convert the world to tea-drinking.
Granted, despite my best efforts on social media outlets, my sphere of influence remains rather small. But my office does offer me a semi-captive and (I think) appreciative audience. Since I began The Ultimate Tea Diet in March, I’ve been offering a selection of teas at my desk for the whole office to enjoy. I periodically send out emails describing new teas to my workmates, and have been known to ambush bad-tea drinkers in the kitchen and march them bodily over to my desk for some of the good stuff.
The truth is, I find this tea-evangelism to be tremendous fun. It is great to see the surprise on people’s faces when they try good tea for the first time. I particularly enjoy clearing up misconceptions about tea (i.e. green tea is not necessarily bitter, it only gets that way when prepared with too-hot water, “decaffeinated” tea is not necessary–it is easy to DIY decaffeinate tea, etc).
The photo above is of my work tea-collection as of a few months ago. Do you try and convert people to tea-drinking? If so, what is your strategy?

I’m just your average green tea drinker, but I want to learn more–I’m definitely going to pick up the book you suggested–and I’ll come back for more tips…

Free tea giveaways for coworkers? Where do I apply to be your coworker? How do they respond to tea evangelism?
Hi DineometerDeb!
Glad to see you here! Absolutely free tea for my coworkers…and I’d sure like to have you as a co-worker as well.
People LOVE the tea. I’ve got some really positive feedback from folks who have discovered tea’s health benefits. And people are surprised at how GOOD tea can taste!
I like Good Earth’s tea — not sure what kind it is but it smells really good and is naturally sweet. My mother brings me some each time she is over.
Susanna:
I’ve had Good Earth’s white tea flavored with vanilla. Very good! Always appreciate your stopping by and commenting!
