First of all, I want to thank ALL my readers…this blog has been up for about a month now and I am thrilled at the response that I have received thus far!
As some of you know, my interest in tea was piqued when I read a book that (literally) changed my life. That book was The Ultimate Tea Diet by Mark Ukra (also known as Dr. Tea, owner of The Tea Garden in Hollywood). By using the information in this book, I have dropped 5 dress sizes since March, and while I still have a long way to go to meet my weight loss goals, I feel and look better than I have in years! I am truly grateful to Dr. Tea for writing this book.
But even if you don’t need or want to lose weight, this book is still a wonderful read. Yes it does explain how people can use tea as a weight loss tool, but much of the book focuses on tea itself: What it is, what it can do for you, how to prepare it, and even how to cook with it!
So in celebration of this book and this blog, I am holding a contest. Here is how it works:
1. On the upper right-hand corner of this blog is a “Subscribe” form. All you need to do is to enter your email address in order to receive my blog posts via email. I won’t spam you, and I normally only post once (rarely twice) per day.
2. On October 31st, 10pm (central standard time) I will randomly draw one email address as the winner. That winner will be contacted by email and asked for their name/address so that I can send them a free copy of The Ultimate Tea Diet.
3. This contest is not sponsored, connected to, or endorsed by Dr. Tea or The Ultimate Tea Diet.
4. This contest is open ONLY to those people living in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
Any questions? Please ask! And good luck!

Been mean to sign up for a while. Great idea!
This book sounds like it is a wealth of information! Congrats on your weight loss ~ keep up the good work! Have you run across a brand and or flavor of tea that really works well for insomnia – think we all probably have times when we just can’t get to sleep or stay asleep??!!
Hi Nancy!
Thanks for stopping by. There are some herbal tisanes that can be great for insomnia. Try Mighty-Leaf’s Chamomile Citrus. For myself, white tea is often very relaxing. It is low in caffeine and what little caffeine is in it can be removed by steeping for 30 seconds, throwing the water out, and then resteeping. I like Tea Gschwendner’s Elderflower White Tea. Try some white tea and see what you think!
Susanna,
Thanks for stopping by and signing up!
I love tea! This would be a great diet for me!
What a great idea! What a blessing to have your life changed so significantly. Good luck on your journey!
Hi Holly,
Thanks for stopping by. Tea has proven to be a great weight loss tool for me!
thank you, it has a good information of the book that will be known for people who want to diet by drink tea. i like it.
How great to stumble across your blog! I visited Ireland in May and developed a bit of a “tea habit,” and since returning home have purchased loose leaf breakfast tea, a strainer, tea pot, silver sugar tongs (thanks, eBay), sugar cubes and other great tea doodads. The purchases weren’t expensive (lots of these things can be found at rummage sales and thrift shops, as well as eBay). I enjoy the ritual as much as the tea. Nearly two years ago I had a liver transplant and can no longer drink wine, which I love, and now I can have a cup or two of tea in the early evening instead. Tea – it’s the new wine
And I’m intrigued by the tea diet book – like most other liver transplant patients, I have gained weight since my surgery (weight gain is very commonplace and very unhealthy post-transplant) and losing/maintaining a healthy weight is tremendously important. Perhaps this is an option for me that my docs will endorse! Thanks.
Hi Jay!
Great blog, and thanks so much for stopping by. I’ve added your blog to my blogroll, btw.
Tea can definitely be a great tool in weight loss, so I am glad that you enjoy it. I’d just caution you to speak to your doctor about drinking lots of tea (or anything else). . .I have no idea what sort of concerns there might be (if any).
Take care, and hope to see you soon!
